Duties

  • Assist with designing and drawing basic engineering designs and improvements utilizing Computer Assisted Drafting and Design (CADD) data drawings, Civil 3D, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
  • Follow regulatory requirements associated with CADD, 3D, and GIS systems.
  • Follow project plan specifications to ensure critical milestones are met throughout project life cycles.
  • Prepare engineering projects by reviewing project proposals and plans, identifying project phases and elements, reviewing bids from contractors, studying product designs, verifying client requirements, and sequencing project elements.
  • Compile and analyze engineering reports to help senior-level technicians make basic adjustments and improvement modifications to dimensions, materials, and/or components of assigned projects.
  • Operate Computer Assisted Drafting and Design (CADD) software and systems, under direct supervision, to contribute to the creation of 2D and 3D drawings, models, and layouts of project components and structures.
  • Perform review of work for routine Civil Engineering project designs and drawings to verify accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards and specifications.
  • Maintain up-to-date files for engineering projects and ensure the appropriate version controls for drawing and design files.
  • Communicate with engineers and other team members to ensure adherence to project requirements, design constraints, and technical specifications.
  • Participate in regular team meetings to keep management advised of work area activity and project progressions.
  • Exemplify the culture of intelligence, integrity, and initiative in day-to-day interactions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering Degree plus 2 years of experience in Civil Engineering
  • 2 years of experience with AutoCAD drafting software
  • 2 years of experience with HydroCAD, Autodesk Storm, and Sanitary Analysis software
  • 2 years of experience with Pennsylvania DEP and DOT permitting process.
