Job Description

Location: Plymouth, CT

Pay: $20.00–$26.00 per hour, based on relevant experience

Schedule: 1st Shift & 2nd Shift | Four-day workweek

Job Type: Full-time, permanent, in-person

We are seeking two CNC Level 1 Operators to join our turning department—one for 1st shift and one for 2nd shift
.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is dependable, mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and eager to build a career in precision manufacturing. At this level,
work ethic, reliability, attention to detail, and basic mechanical skills are more important than extensive CNC experience.

Established in 1965, Model craft Company is an AS9100-certified precision CNC turning and milling job shop serving the aerospace, medical, and commercial industries.

We are a stable and growing small manufacturer where employees can make a meaningful contribution, develop their machining skills, and work directly with an experienced production team.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC lathes and turning centers to produce precision components
  • Load and unload parts and monitor machine operation
  • Follow work instructions, job travelers, and basic blueprints
  • Perform basic inspections using calipers, micrometers, and gauges
  • Monitor tool wear and identify quality or machine issues
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Learn additional CNC operating, tooling, inspection, and setup skills

Qualifications

  • Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to follow written instructions and established procedures
  • Willingness to learn and develop CNC machining skills
  • Previous manufacturing or CNC experience is preferred but not required
  • Ability to work independently after training
