Job Overview

Travel Stepdown RN – 13‑week assignment in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Fusion Medical Staffing seeks an experienced Stepdown RN to provide high‑quality care for patients transitioning from intensive care to medical‑surgical units, with a focus on telemetry and cardiac monitoring.

• One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN
• Current valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
• Current ACLS Certification (AHA/ARC)

• Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Certification
• NIHSS Certification
• Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position

• Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments with a focus on cardiac care
• Prepares equipment and assists physicians during cardiac procedures and examinations
• Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients
• Observes patients, records significant conditions, and communicates cardiac status changes to supervisors or physicians
• Responds to life‑saving situations using nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols for cardiac emergencies
• Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients
• Initiates patient education plans focused on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for telemetry patients
• Maintains confidentiality of patients and client information
• Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
• Adheres to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards

• Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English
• Ability to read/comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions
• Basic PC skills

• Ability to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend

• Effectively work with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) while presenting a positive attitude and professionalism

• Capable of fine manipulation, push/pull, and movement assistance during procedures or when using equipment

• Handle frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure
• Work under close supervision occasionally and independently when needed
• Adapt to irregular activity schedules and maintain continuous concentration to detail
