Job Overview
Travel Stepdown RN – 13‑week assignment in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Fusion Medical Staffing seeks an experienced Stepdown RN to provide high‑quality care for patients transitioning from intensive care to medical‑surgical units, with a focus on telemetry and cardiac monitoring.
Required Qualifications- One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN
- Current valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
- Current ACLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
- Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Certification
- NIHSS Certification
- Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position
- Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately
- Administers prescribed medications and treatments with a focus on cardiac care
- Prepares equipment and assists physicians during cardiac procedures and examinations
- Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients
- Observes patients, records significant conditions, and communicates cardiac status changes to supervisors or physicians
- Responds to life‑saving situations using nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols for cardiac emergencies
- Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients
- Initiates patient education plans focused on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications
- Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for telemetry patients
- Maintains confidentiality of patients and client information
- Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
- Adheres to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions
- Basic PC skills
- Ability to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend
- Effectively work with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) while presenting a positive attitude and professionalism
- Capable of fine manipulation, push/pull, and movement assistance during procedures or when using equipment
- Handle frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure
- Work under close supervision occasionally and independently when needed
- Adapt to irregular activity schedules and maintain continuous concentration to detail
- Visual acuity and effective communication abilities required
