Shifts
  • 12-hour shifts (6am-6pm, 6pm-6am)
  • Plant operates on various schedules (schedule assignment determined by candidate preference and plant needs): 2-2-3 schedule: 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off rotation. Working 3-4 days/week. One week:
    Sun, Wed, Thurs & Next week:
    Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat.

Summary

Bakers are the start of the pretzel making process. Responsibilities include running a large mixer and extruder with computer programming and hand measuring.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Follow all SOPs to keep consistent product quality.
  • Recognize the different dough textures.
  • Keep hoppers filled with proper amount of dough.
  • Properly measure the minor ingredients by performing catch samples.
  • Check dough temperature.
  • Check the flour sifter each shift.
  • Check all drives, cookers, salters, ovens, dryers, discharge, and proofing conveyors to ensure they are properly operating and set to correct settings.
  • Document cuts per minute as required.
  • Check and record caustic every 30 minutes and record on BakerQC.
  • Check wet weights/length every 30 minutes and record on BakerQC.
  • Make inventory moves in S4 Hana.
  • Record all ingredient lot numbers.
  • Keep salter level accurate.
  • Notify leads, QA, and packers of any bad product and notify how long it will last.
  • Communicate with immediate supervisor if any problems arise.
  • All other duties assigned by supervisor and management.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • One-month related experience or training.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a manufacturing/food manufacturing environment, including GMP, SQF, Autonomous/Preventative Maintenance, Continuous Improvement, and Warehouse Management Systems such as SAP/LPR.
