The Bookkeeper operates with a high degree of autonomy while working closely with the AP & Forensic Accountant, Corporate Controller, and broader accounting team. In this role, you will manage daily accounts payable functions, perform precise reconciliations, and drive key financial processes.

Monday – Friday (25–35 hours/week, flexible between 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM)

Pay Rate
: $27.00-$31.00 per hour

Job Responsibilities Accounts Payable & Expense Tracking
  • Manage end-to-end processing for high volume of accounts payable transactions, ensuring flawless data entry and proper departmental allocation: estimated 500 monthly transactions.
  • Execute weekly check runs and accurately record ACH payments.
  • Oversee credit card purchase activity, manage transactions, and execute monthly AP accruals.
  • Reconcile monthly vendor statements and proactively research and resolve discrepancies.
  • Proactively manage vendor relationships and accounts, ensuring complete data integrity and the swift resolution of any statement discrepancies (could possibly involve making payments in online portals).
  • Maintain vendor compliance, including W-9 collection and updates.
    • Cash & Bank Management
    • Record and audit daily cash activity and bank deposits.
    • Verify actual property cash counts against system reports to ensure complete accuracy.
  • Month‑End & Audit Support
    • Assist with month‑end reclassifications and closing procedures.
    • Proactively gather and organize documentation for year‑end audits.
  • Administrative Ownership
    • Maintain a pristine and organized digital footprint, ensuring accounting email inboxes are promptly reviewed, answered, and archived.
    • Partner closely with property managers and the corporate leadership team to streamline financial workflows, investigate and resolve document discrepancies, and provide operational support.
    • Serve as a collaborative resource for department heads, proactively assisting them with expense tracking, code allocations, and budget inquiries.
    • Enforce strict compliance with company policies and internal financial controls, confidently guiding property managers and staff on proper accounting procedures.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional physical workspace that reflects Mirbeau’s standards of excellence.
Qualifications & Skills Experience & Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required (Degree or coursework in Accounting/Finance a plus).
  • Proven bookkeeping or accounts payable experience, preferably within the hospitality or wellness industry.
  • A strong foundational understanding of basic accounting principles and general ledger impact.
Technical Proficiency
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, and Excel).
  • Solid Excel skills (ability to work with formulas, sorting, and basic data analysis).
  • Strong alphanumeric data entry skills with an emphasis on speed and high accuracy.
