Long term freelance opportunities inside IR35 exist for Quantity Surveyors on a MOD project in Plymouth. Due to the nature of the project, candidates will be required to undergo a BPSS check which can take up to 8 weeks. Eligible candidates must hold a NATO or MISWG passport and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years.
This post offers a lodge allowance of £50/day gross.
Responsibilities- Provide commercial input including financial and contractual performance forecasts to the management team and help ensure that business targets and KPIs are met or exceeded.
- Ensure cash flow is maximised, including ensuring payments are made and received on time.
- Preparation and review of monthly cost reports for area, together with review of results and consideration of trends with other contract team members.
- Forecasting and monitoring spend against approved Client budgets.
- Physical measurement of works and agreement of same with client and subcontractors.
- Agreement of certification and payment of subcontractor accounts, monitoring such accounts against forecasts.
- Implementation and compliance with the contract change control procedure and monitoring thereof, including communications to client as appropriate.
- Managing sub-contractors including sending out enquiries, collating prices, comparing with tender, negotiation, order placement, agreement of account and payment.
- To assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks and implement Kier Group's policies for risk management.
- Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying.
- CSCS – White, PQP/AQP, RICS qualifications.
- Fully conversant with NEC Contracts.
- Experience with the use of CEMAR desirable but not essential.
- Experience working with Coins/Causeway accounting systems.
- Holder of a Full UK Drivers Licence.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as it is client facing.
- Background: BPSS check required.
