Built on a legacy of quality and innovation, we are seeking a Product Development Intern to join our team and support our continued growth. This position reports to the Senior Manager of Proto Shop and will work in our Plymouth, Massachusetts office.

The Product Development Intern will bring product concept through the entire development process under the guidance of experienced Cool Gear designers.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Research presentation outlining Cool Gear Brand offerings, market competition, relevant adacent products
• Present white space opportunities. Possible trends to utilize, general concepts for development
• Initial concept sketches presented to design team
• Refined product concept sketches as directed by design team
• Initial CAD created with guidance from team
• CAD renderings presented/reviewed with team
• Concept prototyped and assembled with Proto
• Prototype reviewed and CAD revised for engineering/aesthetic changes with team
• High fidelity prototype created to show final concept direction

The ideal candidate for this role shall have the following qualification and experiences:

• Must be a current student or recent graduate of a university or college. Minimum of a rising sophomore level.
• Coursework related to the internship role (Industrial Design or similar)

To be successful in this role, we believe that you possess the following skills, competencies & characteristics:

  Basic proficiency in tools or software relevant to the role (design sketching and Adobe Creative Suite.
• CAD experience (Solidworks) is highly recommended but not required.
• Should be comfortable working in a shop environment.
