Job DescriptionPilgrim Area Collaborative is a public educational collaborative that serves students with a wide range of disabilities from primary through post-secondary levels from all over the South Shore.
PACES is the Extended Services program of PAC which provides district consultation, home services to students and families, as well as after school programs and professional development workshops. We are currently looking for Direct Service providers. There are current openings in several districts, including but not limited to the Boston area, Bridgewater, Cohasset, Hingham, Holbrook, Middleboro, Needham and Whitman-Hanson.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.
For staff working in our Behavior and Skills based model, experience in applied behavior analysis, implementation of skill acquisition and behavior reduction programming, data collection, behavior management, and social skill instruction is required.
For staff working in our Social Emotional and Therapeutic Learning model, knowledge of SEL, trauma informed practices, co-regulation, crisis management and de-escalation with a strength in relationship building.
For staff working in our Transition and Community Access and Transition Coaching models, experience working individually with young adults in community settings such as employment sites, in stores, on public transportation, and/or on college campuses, would be necessary. Strong communication skills paired with an understanding of the transition to adulthood process is essential.
Position Type: Part-Time, before school and after school hours available
Reports to: PACES Program Coordinator or PACES Supervisor
Performance ResponsibilitiesGeneral:
- Implement instructional and training programs and/or behavior support plans for students and families to meet goals identified through assessment under the direction of a PACES Supervisor.
- Prepare materials for home, community and/or coaching services as instructed by a PACES Supervisor.
- Record data on skill acquisition, behavior regulation and progress of student and family goals set by the PACES Supervisor.
- Complete required paperwork and tasks assigned by the PACES Supervisor.
- Collaborate with school personnel and other service providers.
- Implement behavior programs with students which may or may not include physical restraints or physical escorts.
- Lift and position physically involved students.
- Attend PACES staff meetings as required.
- Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries with families.
- Strive to implement through supervision and action the philosophy of the Pilgrim Area Collaborative, its member districts and the PAC Extended Services program.
Other:
- All duties as assigned by the PACES Director and Executive Director.
- Follow all rules and regulations as required by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
