Minimum Qualifications
- Active Secret Security Clearance required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, production, prototype, or engineering environment.
- Experience with mechanical assembly of complex hardware and electromechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly instructions, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, and precision measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) and FOD (Foreign Object Debris) control procedures.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electronics Technology, Mechanical Technology, Engineering Technology, or related technical field.
- Experience with cable and harness fabrication, crimping, connector installation, labeling, and routing.
- Experience performing continuity testing and basic electrical troubleshooting.
- Experience working with circuit card assemblies (CCAs).
- Soldering experience and familiarity with IPC standards.
- Experience with inventory management, material control, and purchasing processes.
- IPC certifications or related technical certifications.
As an Electro-Mechanical Technician, you will support the assembly, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of advanced prototype systems in a laboratory environment. Working closely with engineers and technical teams, you will help build and validate innovative hardware solutions through hands-on mechanical and electrical assembly activities.
This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy working in a fast-paced development environment and have strong technical skills in mechanical assembly, prototype builds, and hardware integration.
Responsibilities
Prototype Assembly & Integration
- Assemble mechanical and electromechanical prototypes using engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Perform detailed component installation, fastening, torquing, and wiring activities.
- Support integration of hardware systems and subsystems.
- Ensure assembly activities meet engineering specifications and quality requirements.
- Build, modify, and repair cable and wire harness assemblies.
- Perform crimping, connectorization, labeling, routing, and cable management activities.
- Verify assembly quality and compliance with design requirements.
- Conduct continuity checks and basic electrical testing of cables, harnesses, and electronic assemblies.
- Support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of assembly and integration issues.
- Assist engineering teams during prototype verification and test activities.
- Handle and inspect circuit card assemblies (CCAs) following ESD requirements.
- Apply epoxies, thread-locking compounds, greases, and other materials according to specifications.
- Maintain accurate build records, test results, engineering logs, and documentation.
- Support inventory tracking and material control activities.
- Assist with procurement requests and material ordering as needed.
- Follow ESD, FOD, safety, and quality control procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with engineering standards and company procedures.
