• Prototype Assembly:
Perform intricate mechanical and electromechanical assembly of prototypes, including detailed component placement, fastening (torquing to specifications), and wiring.
• Material Application:
Skillfully apply adhesives (epoxies, Loctite, etc.), greases, and other materials according to engineering documentation and quality standards.
• Cable/Harness Assembly:
Construct and modify cable and harness assemblies, including crimping, connectorization, labeling, and routing.
• Electrical Testing:
Perform continuity testing, basic electrical checks, and potentially more advanced testing (depending on experience) on cables, harnesses, and circuit card assemblies (CCAs).
• Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) Handling:
Handle and assemble CCAs with care, following ESD procedures. May involve component placement, soldering, and inspection.
• Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of assemblies, tests, and modifications in engineering documentation, logs, and databases.
• Troubleshooting:
Assist engineers in identifying and resolving assembly and test issues.
• Material Management: (Plus) Assist with inventory management, tracking components, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
• Purchasing Support: (Plus) Assist with ordering components and materials as needed, potentially including generating purchase requests.
• Adherence to Standards:
Strictly adhere to all safety procedures, quality control standards, and engineering specifications.

Collaboration:
Work closely with engineers, other technicians, and support staff to achieve project goals.
Qualifications –
Required:
• Demonstrated proficiency in mechanical assembly techniques, including the use of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions.
• Familiarity with proper use of torque wrenches and application of thread locking compounds (Loctite).
• Experience with the proper handling and mixing of epoxies and other adhesives.
• Familiarity with ESD and FOD control procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Active Secret security clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access.
• Minimum [2-3 years – adjust as needed] of hands-on experience in a technical laboratory, manufacturing, or prototype environment.
High School Diploma or equivalent. Associate's degree in a technical field (e.g., Electronics Technology, Mechanical Technology, Engineering Technology) preferred.
