Description

If you believe nights and weekends are for your family and friends, and not spent working, then have we got a job for you. Community Connections Inc. is looking for Developmental Specialists to join our Day Center team based in Plymouth, MA, on a relief basis. In this role, you will support individuals with disabilities by implementing their Day Habilitation Service Plan (DHSP) and documenting their progress.

You will help people become more engaged and reach their maximum potential in physical, emotional and social abilities. You will partner with Community Connections in their mission to provide optimal independence and enriching services to people with disabilities. We are looking for a Developmental Specialist with a commitment to compassion, promoting accessibility and serving the community.

What You'll Do as an Developmental Specialists:
  • Document each person’s progress towards DHSP objectives
  • Assist individuals physically as necessary
  • Ensure individuals health, safety and general well being
  • Provide and maintain community based habilitation/therapeutic experiences through social, recreational and volunteer opportunities, based on the individual’s needs and wishes
  • Ensure and safeguard individuals’ human dignity, rights, and liberties
What You'll Need as an Developmental Specialists:
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • 1+ year's experience and/or training working with individuals with disabilities
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
  • Proven problem solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Strong computer and word processing skills
