POSITION:
Extended Day Assistant 1:1 with Student

HOURS:

7:00am – 9:00am and 3:30pm - 6:00pm, Monday through Friday

LOCATION:

Isbister Elementary School JOB GOAL

The staff member will work one on one with a student to aid them while at Kids’ Time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children with autism.
  • Demonstrate ability to work with parents, students, and support personnel.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good attendance record.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to be self-directed.
  • Ability to engage in problem identification and solving.
  • Ability to maintain good rapport with staff/parents/students.
  • Prefer experience as a one-on-one paraprofessional.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Functions under the direct supervision of Extended Day site director and Extended Day Coordinator.
  • Performs those health care, and other related assignments developed by a special education professional specific to the student.
  • Implements health care, instructional programs and the management of aggressive student’s behavior.
  • Supports the student with eating, bathroom, dressing, arriving and any other aspect of the student’s day.
  • Monitors established goals and objectives for the student.
  • Supervise students in the classroom, halls, and outside.
  • Bending, lifting, and overhead work required.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.
