Civil Project Engineer
The Civil Project Engineer is responsible for planning, management, design, and quality control of civil engineering projects from inception to completion. This role includes developing and fostering business relationships with both existing and new clients across various disciplines.
Responsibilities- Oversee everyday project activities, ensuring quality control and project deliverables.
- Manage all phases of the project from design through construction.
- Make independent engineering design decisions.
- Serve as the main point of contact for all project-related questions and concerns.
- Lead communication with contractors and subcontractors on engineering tasks.
- Proactively manage design issues, budgetary concerns, and other project-related complications.
- Assist with the preparation of proposals and cost estimates for new project opportunities.
- Direct and coordinate workloads with project team members.
- Monitor and evaluate projects to ensure adherence to specifications, budgets, and standards.
- Determine project schedules by studying project plans and specifications.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting standards are maintained throughout the project(s).
- Prepare contract documents and review/evaluate submitted bids for various projects.
- Control project plans by reviewing design, specifications, and schedule changes.
- Perform field inspections of existing site conditions and infrastructure as necessary.
- Produce and modify drawings using computer-assisted design/drafting equipment and software.
- Obtain necessary permits with various local, county, and state agencies.
- Recommend technical design or process changes to improve efficiency, quality, or performance.
- Train and mentor other associates within the team and across the company.
- Maintain exceptional internal and external client relations.
- Achieve performance objectives and financial metrics.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- PE License.
- 8+ years of Civil Project Engineering experience.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar software.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time in both urban and remote areas.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to client and project sites.
- Excellent written, presentation, interpersonal communication, and concentration skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams including technical and non-technical personnel.
- Resourceful, action-oriented, creative, and analytical thinker.
- Strong planning, organization, preparation, and execution capabilities.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plymouth, MI. This is a hybrid position in Plymouth, MI.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $56.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
