A Day in the Life and the Impact You’ll Make:

DEKRA is seeking a Senior EMC Engineer with a minimum 7 years in Automotive EMC Validation. This role will support validation testing for Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) automotive electronic products in both ICE and EV automotive platforms.

What You Will Do Laboratory Setup and Validation
  • Commission and validate RF chambers, instrumentation, and test methods
  • Develop and implement new test procedures as required
Quality Assurance, Accreditation and Maintenance
  • Obtain and maintain ISO-17025 accreditation and OEM recognitions
  • Implement and manage the Laboratory Quality System
Customer and OEM Relations
  • Provide expert EMC support and communication to clients and OEMs
  • Ensure thorough documentation, including test data and reports throughout EMC validation
Test Planning and Execution
  • Review and develop test plans aligned with OEM requirements
  • Address customer and OEM inquiries prior to testing
  • Propose and implement test plan deviations when necessary
Technical Expertise
  • Conduct EMC testing to meet multiple specifications, OEM, and regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrate proficiency in EMC test setups for emissions and immunity testing
  • Ensure rigorous compliance with key industry standards, including GMW 3097, FMC 1278, CS 00056, ISO‑7637‑2,-3, CISPR
    25, ISO‑11452‑2,-4, ISO‑10605, and IEC 61000‑4‑2,

What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability
  • 5+ years of experience testing automotive electronic components: radiated emissions and immunity, conducted immunity and emissions
  • Hands‑on experience with test setups radiated and conducted emissions and immunity
  • Hands‑on experience on PCB modifications, including soldering and wiring harness assembly or repair
  • Working knowledge on instruments required for EMC testing such as EMI receivers, RF amplifiers, RF antennas, VNA, oscilloscope, signal generator, antenna, RF coupling clamp, near field probe, ESD generator, transient generators, DC power supplies, etc.
  • Experience with EMC standards for emissions and immunity: CISPR 25, ISO‑11452‑2,
    -4, ISO‑7637‑2,
    -3, ISO‑10605, IEC 61000‑4‑2,

  • Familiarity with EMC test automation software (Nexio, Elektra, Tile, CANalyzer, etc.)
  • Proficient in utilizing communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, Ethernet, and USB for product instrumentation and communication monitoring during EMC testing

  • Ability to move and conduct work with full range of motion
  • Ability to lift 25‑50 lbs (luggage)
  • Extended periods of computer‑based work
Travel Considerations
  • Domestic travel; estimated 10 %
Compensation

DEKRA North America’s compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $74,900 annually in our lowest geographic market up to $110,900 annually in our highest geographic market. Actual pay is based on several factors including market location and position‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
