We are seeking an early career structural engineer interested in existing buildings to join our team. In this role, you willassistwith evaluating structural systems,observingfield conditions, and supporting investigations and testing. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, is curious about how buildings perform over time, and wants to develop practical engineeringjudgment by working directly with existing structural systems and repair projects.
Responsibilities:
- Assistwithinvestigations, condition assessments, and construction observations of buildings and structural components.
- Conduct field testing using various tools and methods, including nondestructive testing techniques.
- Assist with preparation of client deliverables, including engineering reports, construction documents, drawings, details, and technical specifications.
- Contribute to the development of structural repair, retrofit, or stabilization recommendations under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Interface with internal and external project teams, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to support project execution.
- Participate in site visits and construction-phase services to monitor progress and document compliance with design requirements.
- Collaborate with team members to expand your knowledge of building systems, structural behavior, materials, and industry best practices.
- Manage time and tasks effectively to support multiple ongoing projects with varying scopes and deadlines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineeringor related field.
- Two (2) plusyears of similar experience (including internships and co-op positions).
- Excellent technical, written,graphicaland verbal communication skills
- Excellent communication, reportwritingand customer relations skills.
- Ability to adapt to new challenges and learn new concepts.
- Desire for continuous learning.
- Work well with others, courteous, patient, and respectful.
- Personal awareness of role as an SME ambassador.
- Fortituderequiredto stick with a problem until solved.
- Open-mindedness toopinionsof others.
- Ability to work overtime, including weekends on an as-needed basis.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds, stand forlong periodsof time, work from heights, work in tightspacesand inclement weather.
- Ability to work in an efficient and organized manner independently and with a team.
- Ability to drive and safely operate a motor vehicle.
- Willingness to travel to cover out-of-town overnight projects. A valid driver’s license (good driving record) is required.
