Vision Systems Engineer
We are seeking a Vision Systems Engineer to support the implementation and optimization of an automated inspection line. This role involves working with a Continuous Connected Process (CCP) inspection system used on a high-volume production line for battery pouches. The engineer will assist with the calibration of the vision system to ensure it meets performance standards before the production line starts.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in automation, robotics, or machine vision to gain hands-on experience with advanced inspection systems in a cutting-edge EV battery manufacturing environment.
- Assist with calibration and setup of CCP vision inspection systems for battery pouch production.
- Support production optimization efforts during system commissioning and test runs.
- Monitor system performance and provide data/metrics on inspection accuracy.
- Resolve technical issues and communicate progress through regular internal updates.
- Collaborate with other engineers and technicians to troubleshoot system issues and improve performance.
- Support ongoing validation activities to ensure systems meet quality and production standards.
- Experience with vision systems, automation systems, and robotics.
- Proficiency in software testing and problem-solving.
- Ability to interface with customers and collaborate with engineering teams.
- Experience with Cognex, Keyence, or similar vision systems is a plus.
Skills & Qualifications
- 1–3+ years of experience in automation/manufacturing engineering, robotics/robot programming, or machine vision systems.
- A strong troubleshooting mindset and willingness to learn in a hands-on environment.
The role is based on-site at a joint venture plant in OH, where inspection stations are being installed.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Plymouth, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $38.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
