COMPANY OVERVIEW: MOBIS Technical Center of North America is a Research & Development center, and a Tier 1 supplier. MOBIS produces and supplies a wide variety of automotive components to customers including component modules (chassis, cockpit and front-end module), core system, eco-friendly and DAS-mechatronics. POSITION OVERVIEW: The Mechanical CAD Engineer supports automotive product design and development from concept through production. Skilled in 2D/3D CAD design, STEP release management, drawing generation, design feasibility reviews, and engineering documentation control. Proven ability to coordinate between OEM customers and global engineering teams, support development milestones, resolve technical issues, and drive cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-quality automotive subsystems.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND

SKILLS:

Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Support mechanical product design, development, and OEM automotive subsystems.
• Support all STEP release and upload 2D and 3D drawings, support OEM development stage events based on product development timing.
• Act as Liaison Mechanical CAD Engineer and coordinate with MOBIS HQ and OEM for concept design thru final design requirements, including design review / changes and feasibility reviews.
• Control and support Mechanical Engineering data/documents delivery between OEM and MOBIS.
• Work on site at MNA and also frequently offsite at OEM facilities. Collaborate between internal engineering teams and external customers.
• Support discussion with customers regarding future product definitions, requirement refinements, and issue resolutions to maximize system performance.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/YEARS OF

EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• ~5+ years of experience in Mechanical or Electronics CAD design.

DESIRED SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

• Proficient in using CAD system (UG (latest version) and CATIA V5).
• Proficient in using CAD PLM systems and releasing (Teamcenter).
• Self-starter, motivated, with listening, communication, and problem solving skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and explain technical decisions clearly.
• Adaptability to work with overseas HQ, including participating in nightly discussions and navigating cross-cultural communication styles.
• Previous automotive engineering experience at OEM or Tier 1 Supplier.
• OEM resident experience.
• OEM Team center using experience.
• International joint work experience.
• Experience and understanding of basics display interface (MIPI, DP, HDMI, LVDS, FPD-Link IV, etc).
• Knowledge of modern display technology including video and graphics for display firmware.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, tasks relating to the following area will be assigned as required.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

• Report to: Engineering Manager of Infotainment Displays.
• Product/System: Automotive HUD, IC&S, Display etc.
• Work and communicate with: Local Customers, Local team members, Research engineers from Korea and/or in Korea. Your project(s) may accompany HQ research engineers remotely or on your business site.
• Consult with Expatriate coordinator to enhance communication with R&D HQ.
