Position Summary
The position reports directly to the Finance Director, performing the general accounting and financial reporting functions of the Township. The Accounting Manager represents, assists, and supports the director in the preparation of the budget and the annual audit, maintaining accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, utility, payroll, and financial reporting. The role reviews, monitors, and maintains internal controls, recommends improvements, and ensures compliance with GAAP, GASB accounting standards, laws, and regulations.
It participates in the design, development, and implementation of policies and practices to safeguard Township assets and attends meetings on behalf of the director when required, using strong communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with coworkers and the general public.
- Salary Range: $80K – $90K based on experience, skills and abilities.
- Working Hours:
Typical office hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm; additional hours may be required during audit and budget preparation periods. - Benefits:

Skills and Abilities
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration with an accounting focus/major is required.
- Three years of experience in modified and full accrual governmental fund accounting is preferred.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of governmental accounting, budgetary systems and accounting and reporting systems.
- Knowledge of internal control procedures and management information systems.
- Skill in the use of office equipment, including computers and related software.
- Ability to work constructively and interact professionally with other employees, the general public, and professional contacts.
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
