Manufacturing Data Engineer Co-Op

• Assist with extracting, cleaning, and transforming datasets from Excel, CSV, SQL databases, and JSON‑based APIs.
• Support Databricks Bronze → Silver data pipeline development (i.e. Moving data from local sources to cloud storage)
• Perform basic data modeling tasks such as identifying keys and schema understanding. (i.e. Structuring Data)
• Write Python scripts for transformation, automation, and API interaction (i.e. connecting local to cloud software).
• Use SQL for querying operational and analytical data systems (i.e. searching through structured data)
• Assist with unit tests and simple system validation scripts (i.e. robust code development & testing)
• Perform validation checks such as nulls, duplicates, schema mismatches (i.e. making sure data recovered is clean & usable)
• Maintain data dictionaries and transformation notes (i.e. maintaining thorough documentation & handover)

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
• Must be available on-site; full-time during summer, part-time during semester
• Python experience, including writing scripts for data processing or analysis. SQL fundamentals, including basic queries, joins, and aggregations
• Familiarity with CSV and JSON data formats
• Experience using Git for version control (coursework or projects acceptable)
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data validation
• Basic understanding of data concepts such as schemas, transformations, and data quality
