Manufacturing Operator

Job Description

Join a global leader in 3D printing and additive manufacturing as a Manufacturing Operator, supporting the production of medical components in a cleanroom environment. In this role, you work on a small production line with a close-knit team, using hand tools and equipment to shape, finish, and prepare parts for further processing while maintaining high quality and precision standards.

Responsibilities
  • Operate a small pencil grinder to shape parts accurately according to specifications.
  • Use files to refine and finish edges of parts with precision.
  • Perform blasting of material in a controlled machine to achieve required surface finishes.
  • Sort finished products and verify that they meet quality and production standards.
  • Ream and grind parts to prepare them for the production line.
  • Detach parts using a bandsaw in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Work on a small production line with a team of approximately four colleagues in a cleanroom-type environment.
  • Follow established manufacturing procedures and quality guidelines in a team-based setting.
  • Maintain a consistent pace in repetitive assembly and production tasks while meeting daily output goals.
  • Use hand tools, grinders, saws, and calipers with care and accuracy.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and cleanroom practices, including required personal protective equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and resolve issues promptly.
Essential Skills
  • At least 1 year of manufacturing experience in a team-based environment.
  • Experience in repetitive assembly or production manufacturing using hand tools.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, including comfort working with hand tools, grinders, saws, and calipers.
  • Consistent employment history, typically 3 or fewer jobs within 5 years with continuous employment.
  • Ability to perform detailed, hands-on work with small parts in a production setting.
  • Capability to follow written and verbal instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a small team on a production line.
  • Reliability in attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous cleanroom experience is a plus.
  • Prior grinding experience is beneficial.
  • Experience with blasting processes or blasting equipment is an advantage.
  • Comfort working with precision measurement tools such as calipers.
  • Familiarity with medical or high-precision manufacturing environments is helpful.

Work Environment

The role is based in a very clean, well-lit facility, primarily within a cleanroom-type production area. Operators work on either first shift (Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) or second shift (Monday to Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.), with opportunities to pick up voluntary overtime on Saturdays for up to an additional 10 hours per week. You work on a small line with a team of about four colleagues, handling medical production parts using tools such as pencil grinders, files, bandsaws, and other hand tools.

The environment allows you to sit for most of the shift, and you may wear headphones and listen to music while working, subject to safety guidelines. N95 masks are required as part of cleanroom and safety protocols. The facility emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and comfort, creating a focused yet relaxed atmosphere for operators.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plymouth, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.67 - $20.00/hr.
