Job Summary:
The Quality Intern will support a variety of quality-related activities across process audits, system updates, environmental compliance, and continuous improvement efforts. This role provides hands-on experience in quality assessments, process improvements, corrective actions, and supporting documentation updates.
* The Quality Intern position is fully onsite in Auburn Hills, MI.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) studies and process audits to identify and address areas for improvement.
- Support corrective actions and problem-solving activities to enhance product quality and reduce scrap/rework.
- Contribute to the rebranding of controlled documents and support system changes, including updates for supplier flow-downs and customer onboarding.
- Conduct environmental inspections and audits to ensure compliance with regulations, including hazardous chemical inventory and Spill Prevention Plan updates.
- Assist in tracking scrap costs, reviewing historical data, and ensuring compliance with industry specifications and certifications.
No supervisory responsibility
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail, especially in document management, environmental audits, and system updates.
- Knowledge of quality management systems (COPQ, RCCA) and environmental compliance regulations (e.g., SARA Title III, SPCC).
- Analytical skills for identifying process gaps, tracking scrap costs, and supporting corrective actions.
- Strong communication and organizational skills to collaborate across teams and support improvement initiatives.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new quality standards, customer requirements, and environmental documentation practices.
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree (B.
A.) from four-year college or university and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. - High School Diploma or GED
Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks, physical, and controlled substance testing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience with researching topics
- Previous employment with a focus on team-work
