Lead Machine Learning Engineer

We’re seeking to connect a Senior Machine Learning Engineer with a leading company in the insurance industry on a full-time basis. This highly visible, hybrid role is based in Plymouth, Michigan, with local candidates given preference over remote candidates. As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will play a critical role in architecting, deploying, and owning production-grade machine learning and GenAI systems that directly impact core business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and own end-to-end machine learning and GenAI systems.
• Design and deploy AI agents leveraging Generative AI and RAG.
• Translate complex business challenges into scalable AI solutions.
• Implement strong MLOps practices to ensure reliability, monitoring, and retraining.
• Mentor and coach Machine Learning Engineers while remaining hands-on.
• Partner with vendors and internal teams to integrate enterprise AI tools.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related field) is required.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience developing and deploying machine learning models in production.
• Strong proficiency in Python and ML libraries such as Scikit-learn, Tensor Flow, or PyTorch.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), containers/Docker, and microservices architectures.
• Experience with NLP and/or large language models.
• Strong knowledge of MLOps, monitoring, reliability, and deployment patterns.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain ML concepts to non-technical audiences.

Expected

Pay and Benefits:

• Base salary range of $110,000–$146,000 plus a 6% annual bonus
