The Superintendent is responsible for managing all operational aspects of rebar projects in support of projects ranging from high-profile substation foundations to large-scale caisson builds across the country . This includes pla nning, coordination, personnel oversight, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with industry standards.

This position reports to the Director of Operations - Rebar.

Project Planning & Execution
  • Oversee and take ownership of the operational planning and execution of all projects.
  • Develop project schedules, allocate resources, and coordinate with Foreman.
  • Ensure adherence to design specifications, tech requirements, and client expectations.
  • Recruit, train, and develop high-performing field personnel to support project execution.
  • Lead and mentor field teams, fostering professional growth and operational excellence.
  • Provide clear leadership, targeted training, and constructive performance feedback to drive productivity and uphold the highest safety standards.
  • Lead union workforce activities by partnering with union representatives to secure qualified manpower, facilitate and manage traveling crews in local jurisdictions, and proactively address workforce needs.
  • Collaborate with internal support teams to ensure labor agreement compliance, accurate administration of union requirements, and adherence to jurisdictional obligations while fostering strong labor-management relationships.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
  • Foster and lead a culture of safety excellence through proactive team engagement and accountability.
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA and company standards.
  • Conduct site inspections, safety audits, and incident investigations as needed.
Quality and Training
  • Champion and uphold Tri-State Rebar’s Gold Standard of quality across all projects, ensuring it remains the benchmark for the company’s reputation.
  • Assume ultimate responsibility for quality outcomes by monitoring project performance and proactively identifying gaps in compliance, documentation, or execution.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and field leadership to ensure teams use current drawings, adhere to quality requirements, and follow proper installation practices.
  • Oversee enforcement of quality assurance procedures for construction, including assembly and placement of rebar cages, ensuring consistency across all crews.
  • Respond decisively to quality concerns, implementing corrective actions to minimize rework, schedule delays, and cost overruns.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by reviewing lessons learned and integrating best practices into future projects.
Equipment & Logistics
  • Oversee mobilization and demobilization of equipment and support vehicles.
  • Oversee the coordination of equipment maintenance, repairs, and ensure availability of consumables and supplies.
Budgeting & Reporting
  • Monitor project budgets, job costs, and implement cost control measures.
  • Prepare and submit daily reports, progress updates, and financial summaries to senior management.
Client & Stakeholder Communication
  • Represent the organization as the senior liaison to clients, regulatory inspectors, and utility stakeholders, maintaining strong working relationships and project transparency.
  • Attend meetings, provide updates, and ensure client satisfaction throughout all projects.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in rebar, deep foundation or utility construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong understanding of rebar cage assembly, reinforcing steel placement, concrete construction methods, drilled shaft foundation construction, blueprint interpretation, and industry standards.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • OSHA 30 certification and valid driver’s license required.
