Paraprofessionals (Special Education & ADSIS)
Caledonia Area Public Schools is currently accepting applications for multiple paraprofessional positions to support student success in both Special Education and ADSIS (Alternative Delivery of Specialized Instructional Services) programs. Special Education positions are available in grades K12. The ADSIS paraprofessional position is in grades 6-12 and designed to provide targeted academic and behavioral support to students.
Position Overview: Paraprofessionals will work under the direction of licensed teachers and service providers to support the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of students. Responsibilities may include individual or small-group instruction, behavior support, and assistance with personal care or mobility, depending on student needs.
- Assist in the implementation of instructional and/or behavioral plans
- Support students in general and special education settings
- Monitor and document student progress as directed
- Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and other staff
- Provide supervision and support during transitions, recess, and lunch as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must meet Minnesota paraprofessional qualification standards
- Candidates must have completed 60 semester credits or obtained an associate degree (or higher) from an accredited institution or have passed the Para Educator exam or Para Pro exam. (Documentation will be required)
- The district will provide support for individuals needing to complete the paraprofessional assessment
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Terms of Employment:
- School-year positions following the student calendar
- Full-time and part-time opportunities available
- Competitive hourly wage: $16.89 $ 20.93, based on qualifications and experience
