Job Description

Step into a meaningful role supporting elementary students as a part-time Special Education Teacher for the upcoming 26/27 school year. This contract opportunity focuses on delivering exceptional education and support to students with special needs, ideally with expertise in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Your presence on-site will help create an inclusive environment where every child has a chance to thrive.

In this position, you’ll work a partial day, five days per week, collaborating closely with staff and families to provide targeted services and instruction. Although preference is given to those with ASD teaching experience, candidates with other relevant licensure are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications and

Experience:

• Current or eligible Special Education Teacher license; consideration given to relevant licensures
• Preferred background working with students on the autism spectrum
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
• Collaborative mindset and an ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse student needs
• Previous experience in an elementary school setting is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction and support for special education students during scheduled onsite, partial-day hours
• Develop and implement lesson plans addressing the specific learning goals of each student
• Maintain required documentation, including assessments and progress reports
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to provide a cohesive learning experience
• Foster a safe and supportive classroom environment that encourages positive social and academic growth

The role will be located at an elementary school near Minneapolis, MN, and covers the  academic year from September 1, 2026, through June 4, 2027, working .4 FTE.
