Assistant Principal

Intermediate District 287 is looking for an Assistant Principal to serve in our Ann Bremer Education Center located in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. This is a full-time in person position that serves high school students and young adults ages 14-22 with unique needs in a variety of programs.

Contracted days: 251 paid days

This position is part of the Intermediate Principals Association (IPA)

Education and Experience Requirements

• Master’s degree in education or related field
• Three (3) years of professional-level experience working in an educational setting
• Special Education licensure and teaching experience in special education, preferred

Licensure Requirements

• Valid licensure as K-12 Principal, and
• An Assistant Principal hired on or after July 1, 2024, may be placed at any step on the salary schedule. In order to advance beyond three (3) steps of the salary schedule, the Assistant Principal must earn a Director of Special Education license. Once the Assistant Principal earns the Director of Special Education license, they may move to the salary step commensurate with their original placement on the salary schedule.
