Job Description
As a Sr Advanced AI Engineer at Honeywell, you will work with a multidisciplinary team of experts on pathfinding technology implementations for next‑generation products utilizing AI. This role focuses on leading program management and technical development aspects related to computer vision, artificial intelligence (AI), and autonomy technologies for autonomous aerial vehicle platforms.
Responsibilities- Program management (earned value, milestone tracking, contracts, customer presentations) of government and internal research and development programs.
- Conducting research, development, and demonstration of AI, computer vision, and autonomy technologies.
- Drive growth as a technology expert through interfaces with internal and external customers and partners.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
- Master’s degree or PhD from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as robotics, aerospace engineering, or related field.
- At least 4+ years relevant experience with AI‑focused systems development (guidance, navigation and control as well as perception, planning, and behaviors).
- Experience with integration and testing of small unmanned aerial test vehicles (e.g., Pixhawk).
- Hands‑on expertise in simulation, modeling, and validation, including HIL/SIL test environments.
- Hands‑on experience with embedded single board computers such as the Nvidia Jetson platform.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, Tensor Flow, and PyTorch.
- Strong experience with Linux environments and command‑line tooling for system‑level development and debugging.
- Experience with different sensors for autonomous systems such as cameras (electro‑optical, infrared), IMU, GPS, LiDAR.
- Expertise in ROS/ROS2, Isaac or equivalent robotics frameworks.
- Ability to solve complex problems through analysis and innovation.
- Team player who can also work independently.
- Thrives in a fast‑paced dynamic environment.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work directly with sponsors and customers.
- Creativity, technical curiosity, and breadth of knowledge in computer vision and AI.

The annual base salary range for this position is $160,000 – $200,000. This salary information serves as a general guideline and may vary based on factors such as scope, responsibilities, experience, education, key skills, and market considerations.
