As SSM you will own the development of a compelling systems narrative, translate complex HVAC capabilities into differentiated, customer‑centric solutions, and shape the roadmap for next‑generation technologies, products, and integrated solutions. You will bring these solutions to life in the market with thought leadership, content, and strategic frameworks that influence innovation priorities and accelerate execution across the organization.

Responsibilities- Define and lead Daikin Applied’s systems solutions strategy and narrative.
- Translate customer pain points into differentiated, integrated HVAC solutions and drive alignment across business units.
- Serve as a trusted SME in HVAC systems, translating deep design knowledge into actionable guidance.
- Deploy content to communicate systems narratives through direct engagement and presentations to engineers, developers, architects, and end users.
- Continuously capture field feedback, monitor competitive dynamics, and translate insights into actionable opportunities.
- Support new product commercialization—ideate and guide product managers on integration into the broader system story, and manage creation of launch content.
- Develop high‑impact technical content (white papers, webinars, presentations, publications) to communicate system‑level value.
- Represent Daikin Applied within key professional organizations (e.g., ASHRAE, USGBC, AEE) to enhance brand credibility and influence industry direction.
- Guide organizational M&A and technology prioritization by delivering early‑stage assessments for potential technology opportunities.
- Travel support for customer sales events; 25‑35% travel, up to 50% if required.

- Bachelor's degree from a four‑year college or university in Engineering or a related field.
- 8‑10 years of relevant HVAC industry experience.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Team‑oriented mindset with a history of aligning stakeholders toward a common goal.
- Sales‑aware mindset; ability to influence customer design decisions and guide solution alignment.
- Project management skills to coordinate across multiple groups.
- Deep HVAC experience, including air‑side and chilled water systems.
- Strong story‑telling and communication skills.
- Capability to work independently and articulate system‑level design and product detail to executives and customers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Coachable, with an innate curiosity to drive professional growth.

- 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) license.
- Demonstrated writing capability.
- Energy modeling experience.
- Familiarity with industry mega‑trends (decarbonization, refrigerant transition, IAQ).
- Established industry group participation or leadership (e.g., ASHRAE).
- HVAC system design experience as a consulting engineer or sales representative.
