• The primary purpose of this position is to apply intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields.
• Assist internal and external customers in meeting or exceeding expectations.
• Collaborate with project teams comprising customers, Product Development, Operations and Quality associates to establish extrusion tooling and equipment requirements, processing parameters, and material requirements.
• Develop, characterize, and validate the extrusion process required to meet extruded part specifications.
• Provide technical expertise and extrusion processing guidance to R&D and Production Operations to support development projects and commercial operations.
• Responsible for extrusion tooling and equipment development, commissioning and qualifications.
• Adhere to Integer’s Values and all safety, environmental, security and quality requirements, including QMS, SAFETY, Environmental and Security Management Systems, FDA regulations, company policies and operating procedures, and other regulatory requirements.
• Develop new and unique approaches to complex problems and lead projects to advance Integer’s technological capabilities.
• Investigate and interpret internal or external technology and business trends and recommend best practices to the organization.
• Evaluate, develop and implement a wide range of new technologies of significant scope and complexity.
• Identify and procure new equipment and technology of significant complexity, scope and cost.
• Originate new documents such as protocols, reports, specifications and work‑instructions, and review documentation work product of peers and subordinates.
• Plan and develop engineering projects concerned with unique or high‑profile problems that have an important impact on major programs.
• Lead cross‑functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, or complexity, and influence others to achieve goals.
• Provide supervision for up to 4 to 5 technicians and/or associate engineers.
• Serve as a coach and mentor for other engineers, modeling the behaviors and disciplines of an engineering or technical professional.
• Initiate and maintain relationships with individuals and business units within or outside your site or organization.
• Deploy expertise across multiple organizations and/or locations as a subject matter expert, as directed.
• Occasional travel may be required.
• Embed Quality within the Engineering discipline – “I own Quality.”
• Assure adherence to the Quality Management System (QMS), facilitate and/or contribute to corrective and preventive actions, and contribute to the successful attainment of our quality KPI’s and journey to 5 Sigma.
• Perform additional duties as needed and as directed by your line of supervision.
• Develop manufacturing methods using standard extrusion equipment.
• Provide support of Integer’s Manufacturing Excellence and Market Focused Innovation Strategies.
• Champion the development of and deployment of systems and tools to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
• Lead sustained change by ensuring production monitoring, improvement activities and deployment of Leader Standard Work.
• Standardize through workplace organization & visual controls (5S), Manufacturing Standard Work, and robust training & certification programs.
• Promote Associate Engagement through standardized problem‑solving methodologies, behavior‑based safety programs, and improvement idea and suggestion systems.
