custom control panel design and fabrication; and upgrades of obsolete automation systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create drawings using AutoCAD Electrical and/or EPLAN for customer approval and production.
  • Communicate with Automation Engineering, Production, and Administration teams.
  • Attend Hardware Design Team and Engineering Department meetings.
  • Design industrial control panels for food, dairy, and life sciences industries.
  • Handle 3‑phase (≤600V), single‑phase, and low‑voltage power distribution.
  • Ensure industrial electrical safety designs and compliance.
  • Maintain code compliance:
    • Industrial control panel UL508A, UL698 (required)
    • National Electric Code (NEC/NFPA
      70) (required)
    • Occasional:
      Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery (NFPA 79), Electrical Safe Work Practices (NFPA
      70E), European Community (EC) CE Compliance and IEC 60204
  • Specify control system equipment:
    • Understand components required in controls system designs.
    • Attend vendor meetings and perform vendor negotiations.
    • Manage job parts database software and develop proficiency.
    • Produce Electrical CAD drawings using AutoCAD Electrical and Vault.
    • Support design and shop assembly manufacturing processes.
    • Serve as customer interface and support.
    • Assist engineers from other departments in hardware designs and production coordination.
    • Lead project management for multiple projects within scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
    • Participate in sales/marketing activities, including customer visits and quote generation/estimating.
    • Coordinate production: project management for control panel builds and occasional procurement backup to production manager.
Required

Education and Experience
  • BS Degree in a relevant field of study.
  • Or, in lieu of a BS degree, 2‑year technical degree plus at least 3 years of relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of basic electrical circuits.
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to meet deadlines independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to foster positive working relationships with a wide variety of people.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Dependable and punctual in daily work.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Office work in a desk/cubicle environment with extensive computer use.
  • Occasional control panel I/O powered checkouts in the panel shop or at customer sites.
  • Orientation activities include training and work on building control panels.
