Job Description

R&D Engineer, Human Factors role focused on driving new catheter‑based and implantable technologies from concept through commercialization to treat vascular disease, while leading detailed design, testing, prototyping, and pre‑clinical strategy. This position also plays a key role in shaping and strengthening Philips IGTD’s design controls and QMS processes as part of its next‑generation product development efforts.

• Creating design controls QMS work instructions
• Supporting research and development activities from Concept Phase through Commercialization.
• Collaborating with cross‑functional team members throughout product development phases to ensure program success

• B.S. /
  
  B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent work experience. In combination with 5+ years working in product development in the medical device industry
• Knowledge of catheter design/assembly processes (injection molded component design, extrusion, braiding, coiling, reflow, etc.)
• Class II and Class III Medical Device product development experience
• Human Factors experience required with design for manufacturability knowledge and applicable skills

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office‑based teams, this means working in‑person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full‑time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

This is an office role.

The pay range for this position in MN is $107,000 to $142,000.

The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job‑related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long‑term incentives may be offered. At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.
