- Lead and manage electrical projects from conception through to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and construction, to facilitate project execution.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, identifying critical paths and potential delays to proactively address issues.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards throughout project life cycles.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality of work, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Prepare and present project updates to stakeholders, including progress reports and budget analyses.
- Mentor and supervise a team of electrical engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Manage procurement processes for electrical materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards are met.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with external contractors and suppliers to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and compliance records.
- Implement best practices in project management and electrical engineering to optimize workflows and enhance productivity.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical project management or a similar role within the mining or construction industry.
- Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and budget constraints.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse workforce.
- Proficient in project management software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or equivalent certification.
- Experience with electrical systems in the mining sector or heavy industry.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainability practices in project management.
- Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement.
- Previous experience working in remote locations or on-site project management.
- Electrical design and analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar).
- Project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent).
- Safety management systems and compliance tracking software.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
- Familiarity with budgeting and financial management software.
- This position is based in Red Lake, Ontario, and may require occasional travel to project sites.
- Candidates must possess a valid work permit for Canada.
- The role may involve working in various weather conditions and on-site environments typical of mining operations.
