We’re seeking a Finance Project Analyst to join our multicultural team and play a pivotal role in supporting the financial management of Fluence’s Municipal Water and Wastewater projects from initial estimating through project completion. This is a dynamic opportunity for a finance professional who thrives on analysis, collaboration, and turning data into actionable business insights.
About the role:The Finance Project Analyst will partner closely with Project Managers, Engineering, Procurement, and Finance leadership to ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting throughout all project phases. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of project accounting, and a passion for driving operational and financial excellence.
What you will do:- Support Project Financials: Track and monitor project budgets, forecasts, and reconciliations from initiation through closeout.
- Analyze & Forecast: Prepare cost estimates, cash flow forecasts, and variance analyses to drive informed decisions.
- Ensure Cost Control: Review margins, revenue recognition, and generate monthly financial dashboards and summaries.
- Maintain Data Integrity: Compile and validate financial data within the company’s ERP system, supporting automation and reporting improvements.
- Collaborate Cross‑Functionally: Partner with project management, procurement, and engineering teams to align financial outcomes with operational execution.
- Ensure Compliance: Support internal controls, accounting policies, and audit requirements.
- Closeout Projects: Reconcile project financials and present post‑project financial insights to promote continuous improvement.
- Financial Acumen:
Solid understanding of financial reporting, project accounting, and cost management fundamentals. - Analytical Thinking:
Strong quantitative and problem‑solving skills; ability to turn data into meaningful insights. - Accuracy & Attention to Detail:
High standards for data integrity and precision in financial reporting. - Collaboration:
Works effectively with cross‑functional teams across multiple time zones. - Communication:
Clearly communicates financial information to both finance and non‑finance audiences. - Ownership:
Demonstrates accountability for delivering high‑quality, timely analysis and support. - Adaptability:

Operates with transparency, ethics, and professionalism.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or the equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience in project finance, financial analysis, or accounting, ideally within an engineering, construction, or manufacturing organization.
- Strong Excel and ERP proficiency (O365, Net Suite, SAP, or similar).
- Working knowledge of revenue recognition and cost accounting principles.
- Experience preparing project‑level budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills; able to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across functions.
- CPA, CMA, or MBA a plus but not required.
- Occasional travel may be required.
