* Job Title:
** Registered Dietitian (RD) – Full-Time
** Facility:
** Willow Creek Healthcare Center
** Pay Range:** $45.00 – $52.00 per hour (BOE)###
** General Purpose
** The Registered Dietitian is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Dietary Services Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines. This position ensures that residents receive nutritionally sound meals that support medical needs, quality of life, and regulatory compliance.###
** Essential
Duties & Responsibilities
*** Assess the nutritional status of residents and develop individualized nutrition care plans
* Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to dietary services in a skilled nursing facility
* Participate in interdisciplinary care plan meetings and provide nutrition-related recommendations
* Monitor residents for weight changes, hydration status, and nutritional risks
* Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and dietary staff to implement nutrition interventions
* Review and approve therapeutic diets, supplements, and menu modifications
* Ensure accuracy and timeliness of nutrition documentation in the medical record
* Conduct routine audits of dietary services, meal service, and sanitation practices
* Provide nutrition education to residents, families, and staff as needed
* Assist in survey preparation and participate in regulatory surveys as required
* Make written and oral reports to the Administrator and Director of Nursing regarding nutrition services
* Ensure resident preferences, cultural considerations, and physician orders are honored
* Maintain confidentiality of resident information and comply with HIPAA regulations###
** Supervisory Requirements
** This position may provide functional guidance to dietary staff but does not have direct supervisory responsibility unless assigned.###
** Qualifications
* *** Education & Experience
*** Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nutrition or Dietetics from an accredited program
* Registered Dietitian (RD) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
* Active license to practice as a Registered Dietitian in the state of California (if applicable)
* Skilled nursing or long-term care experience preferred
** Skills & Abilities
*** Strong knowledge of clinical nutrition, geriatric nutrition, and therapeutic diets
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong organizational and documentation skills
* Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary healthcare environment
* Proficiency with electronic medical records and basic computer applications###
** Physical Demands
*** Ability to move throughout the facility for assessments and meetings
* Ability to sit, stand, walk, and communicate effectively for extended periods
* Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs
* Ability to meet facility health and screening requirements###
** Work Environment
*** Skilled nursing and healthcare environment
* Noise level generally low to moderate
