General Responsibilities: Are you a people‑focused, solutions‑driven HR professional ready to make a meaningful impact? Terracon’s Minnesota and North Dakota region is growing quickly — and we’re looking for a dynamic Human Resources leader to help shape the next chapter of our success. The position will be located in Terracon’s Plymouth, MN office.

As our Regional HR Generalist, you will be the go‑to HR partner for employees and leaders across multiple offices, driving a positive workplace culture and ensuring our teams feel supported, engaged, and empowered. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of the HR function in a thriving region while staying connected to a strong national network of HR peers. A successful candidate will be a self‑motivated, detail‑oriented individual comfortable working independently and collaborating with a broader HR corporate team.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
  • Support staffing needs and recruitment efforts across the region.
  • Coordinate smooth onboarding experiences that help new employees feel welcome and set up for success.
Employee Relations & Engagement
  • Be the first line of support for employees and managers on HR questions, concerns, and initiatives.
  • Foster strong relationships across offices to ensure a supportive and collaborative work environment.
HR Program Administration
  • Administer HR programs and initiatives in alignment with Terracon’s values, policies, and legal requirements.
  • Help reinforce our culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Terracon anticipates the starting salary range for this job opportunity will be from $75,000 to $90,000. Additional details on the salary range for this job class at Terracon can be found further below in this posting.

Essential

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Perform regional HR activities including but not limited to employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, employee development, communications, training, culture & wellbeing to ensure consistency and supporting regional performance.
  • Collaborate with the People Team to ensure effective communication to Operations.
  • Support the region’s HR compliance and strategy needs through consistent performance of HR work such as process and policy interpretation and implementation, training, and initiatives.
  • Administer regional HR programs, including, but not limited to, recruiting, performance management, employee wellbeing, and training and development as the regional subject matter expert for HR programs.
  • Foster employee engagement and a positive workplace culture.
  • Identify staffing and recruiting needs and support hiring and regional recruiting best practices.
  • Communicate HR related concerns and escalate complex employee relations situations to corporate HR leadership.
  • May process employee‑related transactions and changes such as new hires and terminations in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) to assure accuracy and compliance with law and company guidelines. Process background checks.
  • Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre‑task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
  • Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
