Buyer, Supply Chain​/Logistics

Our client, a leading organization in the healthcare industry, is seeking a Buyer I to join their team. As a Buyer I, you will be part of the Supply Chain Department supporting the New Product Introduction (NPI) team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, effective communication, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully in the organization.

Location:Plymouth, MN

Pay Range:30/hr

• Create and process purchase orders, including direct, indirect, subcontract, stock transfer, down-payment, and discount orders, following documented procurement processes.
• Plan and schedule deliveries to optimize inventory levels in support of project demands by collaborating with engineering, sourcing, planning, category, and shipping teams.
• Process purchase requisitions and communicate with vendors to gather product information such as pricing, availability, and delivery schedules, reviewing quotes and acknowledgments for accuracy.
• Support and maintain mutually beneficial long-term relationships with suppliers, fostering positive business partnerships with Abbott.
• Manage orders through to completion and resolve invoice discrepancies through order closure, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

• 1-2 years of experience in purchasing or commodity management.
• Good working knowledge of procurement concepts, procedures, and practices.
• Familiarity with SAP ERP system preferred.
• Ability to work effectively within a quality system environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging at multiple organizational levels.
