Medtronic’s Indirect Supply Management (ISM) organization is responsible for developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and delivering value across enterprise-wide indirect spend categories. This role supports the Human Resources (HR) and Professional Services categories, partnering with stakeholders across functions, regions, and business units to optimize supplier performance, contracting strategies, and category outcomes within a global spend portfolio exceeding $250 million annually.

This position requires a minimum of four days per week onsite to foster strong partnerships across internal business teams, Legal, and external suppliers while advancing strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and category management initiatives. As the Sr. Strategic Sourcing Specialist, Professional Services, you will support sourcing and category management initiatives across Human Resources and Professional Services spend categories.

• Identify and execute strategic sourcing opportunities across Human Resources and Professional Services categories.
• Lead request for proposal (RFP), request for information (RFI), and other competitive sourcing events to drive value and optimize supplier selection.
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and align sourcing strategies with organizational objectives.
• Negotiate commercial terms and support contract development in partnership with Legal and internal stakeholders.
• Assess supplier capabilities, engagement models, and market options to support informed sourcing decisions.
• Analyze spend, supplier performance, market intelligence, and benchmarking data to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance category performance, sourcing processes, and supplier management practices.

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, vendor management, supply management, or related business functions; or an advanced degree and 3+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, vendor management, supply management, or related business functions.
• Experience leading sourcing projects, supplier negotiations, or competitive bidding events.
• Experience reviewing commercial agreements and supporting contract negotiations.
• Experience analyzing spend, supplier performance, and market data to support business decisions.

• Experience managing Human Resources and/or Professional Services spend categories.
• Experience supporting sourcing or category management programs within a large, multi-division global organization.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
• For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
