Biotech Research, Lab Tech / Assistant, Research Assistant/Associate, Research Scientist
Position is ONSITE in Plymouth, MN. Must be willing to also travel to Minnetonka and St. Paul.
We are seeking an R&D Technician to support laboratory testing, product development, and characterization activities within a regulated environment. This role is ideal for a scientifically minded, detail-oriented professional who enjoys hands‑on laboratory work and is passionate about generating high‑quality, reliable data.
The R&D Technician will partner closely with engineers, scientists, and technical staff to execute experimental studies, operate laboratory equipment, collect and analyze data, and document results. The successful candidate will contribute to product development, verification testing, process development activities, and overall laboratory operations.
Key Responsibilities- Perform hands‑on laboratory testing and experimental studies following established procedures, test protocols, and SOPs.
- Prepare samples, set up experiments, operate laboratory and test equipment, and collect data accurately.
- Document experimental activities, observations, and results in accordance with quality and regulatory requirements.
- Support product development, device characterization, verification testing, and process development initiatives.
- Analyze experimental data, identify trends and observations, and assist in preparing technical reports and study documentation.
- Troubleshoot laboratory equipment and testing processes as needed.
- Maintain laboratory organization, equipment readiness, and inventory.
- Collaborate effectively with engineers, scientists, and cross‑functional team members to achieve project objectives.
- Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s degree, technical certification, or equivalent hands‑on experience in Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, or a related technical field;
OR - 1–4 years of experience in a laboratory, R&D, testing, manufacturing, biotechnology, medical device, or related technical environment.
- Experience executing laboratory experiments and collecting, documenting, and organizing data.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, reproducible, and well‑documented results.
- Ability to follow written procedures, protocols, and standard operating procedures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience supporting in vitro preclinical testing
. - Experience working in a regulated laboratory environment.
- Background in medical devices, biotechnology, healthcare, or related industries.
- Experience preparing technical reports, study plans, protocols, or other scientific documentation.
- Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret test results and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Hands‑on laboratory and bench testing experience.
- Strong documentation and organizational skills.
- Scientific curiosity and proactive problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to quickly learn new laboratory techniques, technologies, and experimental methods.
- Dependable, team‑oriented, and professional approach to work.
- Commitment to maintaining a positive, collaborative, and productive laboratory environment.
