Job Description
Insight Global is seeking an HVAC Prototype Build Technician for a leading HVAC manufacturing client. This individual will work in a hands‑on prototyping environment with a strong focus on brazing and interpreting computer models and drawings. The technician will build HVAC units from the ground up, working directly with engineers to ensure proper assembly, identify design or fitment issues, and support continuous product improvement.
This role requires strong technical skill, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate cross‑functionally. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, shows strong reliability, and thrives in a fast‑paced, engineering‑driven environment.

- 1–2 year degree in HVAC (or related technical field) OR equivalent hands‑on experience
- Strong brazing experience (core requirement)
- Ability to read and interpret CAD models, blueprints, and technical drawings
- HVAC knowledge and hands‑on mechanical aptitude
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality of work
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to work with engineers and communicate technical issues clearly Experience brazing dissimilar metals (copper to steel, copper to aluminum, etc.)
- Experience building or working on HVAC units / water source heat pumps (ATS products)
- Exposure to prototype or R&D environments
- Experience installing instrumentation (thermocouples)
- Documentation experience (photos, tracking parts/serial numbers)
- Prior collaboration with engineering/design teams
