Blue Horizon Energy is seeking a skilled and licensed Journeyman Electrician to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll perform and lead electrical construction work for solar energy, battery energy storage, and EV charging projects across Minnesota and other states. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial or industrial electrician looking to build a career in the rapidly growing renewable energy industry.

Solar experience is preferred, but not required. We’re willing to train the right candidate on solar and battery storage systems. You’ll work alongside apprentices, technicians, and other tradespeople to safely and efficiently install high-quality electrical systems for commercial, industrial, civic, and utility customers. As our team continues to grow, there are opportunities to advance into Lead Electrician, Foreman, and other field leadership roles.

$50–$54 per hour, plus opportunities for overtime, bonuses, and project bonuses.

Travel

Travel is a regular part of this position, as projects may be located throughout Minnesota and in other states. Candidates should be comfortable traveling for project work and working away from home when required. Per diem and applicable travel support are provided for qualifying projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and perform electrical construction work for solar, battery energy storage, and EV charging projects.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment.
  • Provide direction and day-to-day guidance to apprentices and electrical technicians on-site.
  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, single-line diagrams, schematics, and site plans.
  • Ensure electrical installations comply with NEC requirements, applicable codes, and company safety standards.
  • Safely operate and utilize hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
  • Coordinate with project managers, foremen, apprentices, and other trades to maintain project schedules and quality standards.
  • Identify and resolve field issues and communicate project needs to the appropriate team members.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Valid Minnesota Journeyman Electrician License required. Master Electrician license is welcome.
  • Commercial, industrial, or comparable electrical construction experience.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC requirements and electrical safety practices.
