Position: Adaptive Recreation Coach & Lead (Part-Time)

Under the direction of the Parks and Recreation Manager, Recreation Supervisors and Coordinators enhance the quality of life for all residents and to foster individual and community in all aspects of physical, mental, social and environmental through recreational opportunities.

Plymouth Park & Recreation Department offers a wide variety of programs and classes throughout the year.

Adaptive and Inclusive Assistant
  • Work 1 on 1 with children with disabilities participating in recreation programs including sports, theater and STEM programs.
  • Assist with the Can Play Adapted Sports program helping teach a variety of sports.
  • Minimum age requirement of 16 years
  • Must be patient, relate well to children of all abilities, and have a flexible schedule.
  • Part-time, hours vary
  • Assistant pay range: $14.64 - $16.46/hour
Adaptive and Inclusive Lead
  • Work 1 on 1 with children with disabilities participating in recreation programs including sports, theater and STEM programs.
  • Serve as a head coach for the Can Play Adapted sports program.
  • Minimum age requirement of 18 years
  • Must be patient, relate well to children of all abilities, and have a flexible schedule.
  • Coursework or experience in special education, education or related field required.
  • First-aid certification preferred.
  • Part-time, hours vary
  • Lead pay range: $15.99 - $18.55/hour
General Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize and direct activities for all ages in a recreation setting.
  • Provide support as needed for all participants and staff to create an inclusive environment.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure quality programs for all ages.
  • Follow staff policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all staff and participants follow the established policies and procedures.
  • Provide a safe, fun and appropriate experience of all participants.
