Mount Prospect Academy (MPA) is seeking an experienced and compassionate School Social Worker to join our dedicated team in Plymouth, NH. If you are passionate about helping adolescents overcome emotional, behavioral, and educational challenges, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day.

As a School Social Worker, you will work collaboratively with educators, clinicians, families, and community partners to help students achieve success both academically and personally. This role is ideal for a licensed mental health professional who thrives in a trauma-informed environment and is committed to supporting youth through positive growth and development.

What You'll Do
  • Provide individual and group counseling services to adolescents.
  • Collaborate with IEP teams to support student progress and counseling goals.
  • Develop and maintain individualized treatment, support, and crisis plans.
  • Conduct clinical assessments and provide behavioral health support.
  • Build strong therapeutic relationships with students and families.
  • Facilitate treatment team meetings and coordinate care with stakeholders.
  • Support trauma-informed practices throughout the academic setting.
  • Conduct safety assessments and crisis intervention when necessary.
  • Partner with families, schools, and community agencies to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Maintain accurate case documentation, service logs, and student records.
  • Deliver professional development and trauma-informed training to staff.
  • Participate in student-focused meetings and collaborate with administration.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
  • NH Department of Education Certification in School Social Work.
  • Licensed, or actively pursuing licensure, through the NH Board of Mental Health Practice and NH DOE.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience counseling adolescents and families.
  • Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
Preferred:
  • Experience working in special education, therapeutic schools, residential treatment, or behavioral health settings.
  • Crisis intervention and assessment experience.

MPA has developed an expert understanding of this difficult-to-serve population's needs.
