Role

• Perform structural repairs to steel hulls and decks using burning and grinding techniques
• Fabricate and assemble plate and steelwork using specialist tools and equipment
• Cutting, shaping and assembling steel plates and components
• Translate engineering documents into fabrication plans
• Install and join plate, steel and structural materials

• Proven experience in structural steel repair and fabrication
• Skilled in using fabrication tools and workshop machinery
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Experience in marine engineering or similar sectors (e.g. Royal Navy, RFA, commercial shipbuilding)
• Strong understanding of safety and quality standards in heavy engineering environments
• Indentured Apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in fabrication, structural steel, or sheet metal work (Essential)

Successful candidates must pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or examination as a condition of employment. There is an opportunity for Optimised Working Patterns (OWP) involving a 4‑week shift cycle of day/back shift or day/night shift; OWP is not guaranteed.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance. Many positions in the company require national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions, affecting eligibility based on birth, nationality, and residency.
