MET Technician

We are currently seeking an experienced MET Technician to join a reputable automotive repair centre based in Plymouth, Devon. • Carry out removal, refit, and replacement of mechanical, electrical, and trim components on vehicles following repair procedures and manufacturer guidance
• Support vehicle dismantling and reassembly, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety standards
• Identify and report any additional damage or parts requirements during repairs
• Ensure all parts for repairs are available, correctly matched, and securely fitted
• Conduct quality checks and test vehicle systems to confirm repair integrity before customer handover
• Maintain high standards of health and safety, working in a tidy and safe environment
• Assist the team with additional tasks as required within your capability and as directed by management

• Proven experience as an MET Technician within an accident repair or automotive environment
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and trim vehicle systems
• Ability to interpret repair estimates and technical instructions accurately
• Attention to detail and commitment to high standards of quality
• Capable of working effectively independently and within a team
• Knowledge of workshop health and safety responsibilities
• IMI Accreditation in MET is preferred but not essential
• Experience in a bodyshop or accident repair centre is desirable
• Familiarity with modern vehicle systems and safety features
