Electrician – Environment
Plymouth
Role Overview

An opportunity has arisen for an Electrician to join the team at Galliford Try in the Devon area. Reporting to the Site Supervisor/ Manager and coordinated by the Project Engineers, you will be responsible for the Electrical installation / Maintenance on Water Treatment, Wastewater Treatment, Pumping Stations and General industries such as Mines & Quarrying, Environmental Agency facilities and Local Authority infrastructure.

It should be noted that this role may require the successful applicant to participate in an ‘on-call’ rota to provide emergency breakdown attendance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the Health & Safety of themselves & others
  • Carrying out installations / maintenance to the required standard and within the required time frame
  • Complete site documentation as required
  • Red-lining on site ‘Issued for Construction’ drawings, marking them ‘As-Built’
  • Innovate, providing suggestions and ideas to the Site Supervisor / Manager for improved delivery
  • Check goods delivered to site are supplied as per order
  • Identifying changes to the works information and reporting to the Site Supervisor / Manager
  • Emergency ‘call out’ fault finding and diagnostics

To complete the responsibilities, Galliford Try will provide power tools, a van, career progression and opportunities for overtime.

Experience and Qualifications
  • Industrial electrical installation / maintenance background
  • An industry applicable ONC / NVQ /City & Guilds
  • Demonstrable experience of working within the water and / or wastewater and general industries
  • Testing & Inspection qualification an advantage but not a necessity
  • Knowledge and understanding of electrical drawings and schematics
  • 18th Edition wiring regulations
  • Experience on installation of SWA, Tray, Trunking, Plastic Conduit etc
  • Knowledge of instrumentation used in the water / general industry
  • ECS, SSSTS, Confined Space Training, EUSR (Clean Water Hygiene). Any training shortfalls will be provided
