- Reception duties: greet clients, donors, and others; receive packages and mail, answer phones, take messages, provide referrals, and maintain an empathetic presence for the community.
- Maintain monthly Social Services files, update Wellsky daily, Turbo Stats monthly, foodbank and other organization reports, and keep hard copies per Salvation Army policies.
- Assist staff and supervisors in referring clients for rental and utility assistance.
- General office duties: manage the file system, forward invoices to Ministry Leader/Supervisor, handle photocopying, faxing, emailing, scanning, and collaborate on flyer creation and client updates.
- Oversee the client choice food pantry and clothing closet: intake clients, provide assistance when needed, ensure stock and cleanliness, and maintain the pantry space.
- Participate in seasonal/Christmas fundraising efforts and angel tree activities as required.
- Perform additional reasonable responsibilities as assigned.
- Monday: 10:00 am‑2:00 pm
- Tuesday‑Wednesday: 11:00‑3:00 pm (Pantry Days)
- Thursday: 10:00 am‑2:00 pm
- Friday: 8:30 am‑12:30 pm (Pantry Day)
- High school diploma or equivalent (required) and a valid Idaho driver’s license (required).
- One year of administrative duties/office work (required); experience in a Salvation Army office and programs preferred.
- Food Handlers Permit or Serv Safe certification, to be obtained within 3 days of acceptance (required).
- Administrative skills: answering phones, taking messages, email, Word, Excel, file retention, and other computer programs as needed.
- High integrity and trustworthiness; familiarity with local and regional community services (preferred).
- Good people skills and effective communication by telephone, letter, email, and public speaking.
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist intermittently and continuously.
- Ability to grasp, push, and pull objects; reach overhead; lift up to 30 pounds.
- Must be able to drive vehicles regularly.
