Job Description

This position is a new role within the Department of Athletics and will provide strategic leadership, oversight, and coordination of the department's revenue-generating operations, name, image, and likeness (NIL) efforts, and strategic use of the department's events to maximize revenue. This position will report to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development and External Relations to ensure the department fosters new revenue opportunities and aligns the department's fiscal goals with the mission of both Athletics and the University.

This position is not eligible for new visa sponsorship at this time. Candidates who already hold valid U.S. work authorization may be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal units (ticketing, parking, licensing, concessions) to optimize existing revenue streams by helping set strategy, benchmarks, and growth initiatives. This position will not supervise those areas.
  • Identify and evaluate new revenue opportunities, including premium seating, special events, camps, digital monetization efforts, experiences, sport club leadership packages, merchandise, speaking engagements, appearances, etc.
  • Develop and manage relationships with NIL prospects, corporate partners, and local/regional businesses to expand revenue opportunities.
  • Source and facilitate NIL opportunities for student-athletes by connecting them with appropriate partners, in alignment with NCAA guidelines.
  • Lead NIL education efforts for student-athletes, coaches, and staff, ensuring a clear understanding of best practices and institutional policies.
  • Monitor and document NIL activity, supporting required disclosures and working with compliance to ensure adherence to regulations.
  • Test and implement innovative revenue initiatives, such as fan engagement platforms, subscription models, and emerging licensing opportunities.
  • Partner with the athletics development team to align fundraising efforts (annual fund, events, donor engagement) with broader revenue generation and stewardship goals.
  • Collaborate with Bengal Sports Properties and associated Multi-Media Rights (MMR) partners to ensure appropriate alignment of efforts and maximization of resources across revenue opportunities.
  • Coordinate efforts with the University Trademark and Licensing Director and Trademark Licensing Specialist to explore and secure new merchandise relationships, distribution points, and drive sales to maximize licensing revenue.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in Intercollegiate Athletics.
  • Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Experience working in Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) endeavors in support of student-athletes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree.
  • Public relations and promotion skills.
  • Experience working in client services and revenue generation, managing a portfolio of businesses and/or individuals.
  • Knowledge of NCAA Rules and Regulations.
  • Understanding of Title IX as they relate to Intercollegiate Athletics.
  • Detailed understanding of athletic fundraising as well as NCAA Name, Image, and Likeness landscape.
