Job SummaryThe principle function of this position is to provide instructional assistance to students. The position works with individual and/or small groups of students in the Juvenile Detention Center to increase learning skills and levels and assist students in completing online courses. The students will be working on computer based APEX credit recovery classes or GED study materials. Other responsibilities include assisting in preparing students for the transition back to high school, employment, or further education.
The majority of the work is performed in collaboration with the Juvenile Detention Teacher and Probation Officer in the JDC classroom.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent AND successful completion of a minimum of 32 academic core college semester credits that will lead to a Bachelors Degree OR must pass the ETS Paraprofessional Praxis Assessment Test.
COPY OF TRANSCRIPTS MUST BE UPLOADED WITH THE APPLICATION.
School District employees that are interested must apply through the District on-line application system, Appli Tracks, internal application.
If not employed in a parapro position, transcripts must accompany the application. Applicants that are not currently employed with the District will need to complete the external application.
Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance are available to full time employees of the District. Public Employees Retirement is also available for employees that work over 20 hours per week.
