Job Description

The Undergraduate Nursing Director for the School of Nursing, College of Health leads a multi-campus team dedicated to educating the nursing professional workforce of Idaho. The Director is responsible to design, implement, and evaluate all aspects of the baccalaureate degree program. The program includes traditional (first degree) students, accelerated (second degree) students, and Completion (Associate degree RN) students.

This is a 12-month position and reports to the Associate Dean/Director of the School of Nursing and will be located at the Pocatello or Meridian Campus. Travel is required. This position is a clinical track faculty role with responsibilities in teaching, scholarship, and service. The Director works collaboratively with the Associate Dean and Director of the School of Nursing, as well as the Program Manager of the BSN Program.

This is an open-rank, clinical track faculty position eligible for promotion under current guidelines established by the School of Nursing, College of Health, Kasiska Division of Health Sciences, and Idaho State University.

This position is not eligible for new visa sponsorship at this time. Candidates who already hold valid U.S. work authorization may be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching, Curriculum, and Content Expertise

* Provide day-to-day leadership, operational management, and oversight of undergraduate nursing programs.

* Develop and articulate a vision of excellence for undergraduate nursing education that aligns with the School's strategic plan.

* Teach at least one course per semester, modeling instructional best practices and maintaining content expertise.

* Provide leadership in curriculum development, oversight, evaluation, and innovation to ensure alignment with accreditation standards (CCNE) and the AACN Essentials.

* Guide the integration of simulation and emerging instructional technologies into the curriculum.

* Collaborate with the curriculum committee and faculty to engage in continuous quality improvement when addressing curricular issues.

* Contribute to the strategic growth and alignment of all nursing programs across the state.

Student Competence, Safety, and Evaluation

* Oversee student advising, progression, remediation processes, and graduation readiness.

* Ensure program policies uphold standards of competence, fairness, and patient safety across all campuses.

* Maintain consistent documentation and communication of student progression and remediation decisions.

* Expand and strengthen clinical placement opportunities across Idaho, cultivating strong relationships with healthcare partners to ensure high-quality clinical learning experiences.

* Promote consistency in the student experience across all campuses, ensuring standardized teaching, assessment, and access to resources.

Leadership & Professional Conduct

* Demonstrate servant leadership, civility, and professionalism with staff, faculty, students, patients, families, and community partners.

* Recruit, retain, evaluate, and mentor undergraduate faculty and staff, fostering a culture of accountability, professional growth, and scholarly development.

* Supervise site coordinators and course faculty to ensure consistency in pedagogy, student support, and faculty mentoring.

* Provide direct supervision to Undergraduate Faculty and the Undergraduate Program Manager, including recruitment, evaluation, and ongoing professional development.

* Manage departmental resources, exercise fiscal stewardship, and oversee budgetary responsibilities.

* Determine staffing needs, develop schedules, review adjunct qualifications, and initiate hiring processes.

* Foster interprofessional collaboration within academic and clinical settings.

* Advance nursing practice through integration of theory, evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and research in the undergraduate curriculum.

* Represent the Undergraduate Program at School, College, and University meetings.
