The Associate Dean for Experiential and Interprofessional Education provides strategic leadership for experiential and interprofessional education across the College’s professional and graduate programs. The position leads the Office of Experiential and Interprofessional Education and works with program faculty and staff to align experiential programs, promote quality and efficiency, ensure accreditation compliance, and support future growth.
The Associate Dean establishes standards, policies, and shared processes while coordinating experiential learning activities across programs, campuses, and practice sites in Idaho, Alaska, and Nevada. Program-level faculty and staff maintain responsibility for discipline-specific implementation and student supervision.
As a member of the College Leadership Team, the Associate Dean collaborates with academic and administrative leaders to advance experiential and interprofessional education, strengthen external partnerships, and oversee experiential education personnel, operations, and systems.
The position includes a faculty appointment with responsibilities in teaching, scholarship, and service. Effort allocation is 80% administration, 10% teaching, 5% scholarship, and 5% service. This position is not eligible for new visa sponsorship at this time. Candidates who already hold valid U.S. work authorization may be considered.
Key ResponsibilitiesAdministrative Responsibilities (80%)
- Strategic Leadership and Program Oversight:
Provide strategic leadership, vision, and governance for experiential and interprofessional education across all College programs. Establish and lead the Office of Experiential and Interprofessional Education. Coordinate experiential education programs, policies, and processes to promote quality, consistency, efficiency, scalability, and accreditation compliance while respecting discipline-specific requirements. Ensure alignment of experiential and interprofessional learning with curricula, program outcomes, and College strategic priorities. - Preceptor Development, Partnerships, and Quality Assurance:
Oversee College-wide frameworks for preceptor development, site quality assurance, assessment, and continuous quality improvement. Promote standardized expectations, evaluation processes, and learning outcomes across programs. Provide leadership for interprofessional education, external partnerships, affiliation agreements, and experiential site development. Support faculty, preceptors, and program teams through shared resources, guidance, and best practices. - Assessment, Accreditation, and Operations:
Collaborate with College leadership to ensure accreditation compliance, continuous quality improvement, and program evaluation. Monitor key performance indicators related to experiential education, student success, and program effectiveness. Support development of experiential components for existing and future academic programs. Represent the College in regional and national experiential education initiatives and partnerships. Supervise experiential education personnel and oversee budget, resource allocation, and operational effectiveness.
Faculty Responsibilities (20%)
- Teaching (10%):
Provide didactic and/or experiential instruction. Serve as instructor of record for designated experiential courses and ensure course quality, curricular integration, and accreditation compliance. - Scholarship (5%):
Maintain an active program of scholarship related to experiential education, professional practice, or related fields. Disseminate scholarly work through presentations, publications, grants, or other scholarly activities. - Service (5%):
Serve on College and University committees as assigned. Contribute to the profession and community through leadership, service, and professional engagement.
Total Effort Allocation: 80% Administration, 10% Teaching, 5% Scholarship, and 5% Service.
Minimum Qualifications- Professional doctoral or master's degree in a licensed health profession from an accredited institution (e.g., PharmD, MD, PA, MS in a clinical health profession, or equivalent).
